When not dog grooming, my life still revolves around animals as I’ve always been literally animal mad, and my home menagerie keeps growing!!

Currently I’m owned by (sorry, I mean I own!) Poppy the 9 year old Cockapoo, Misty the 2 year old Bengal X cat, Marmalade the incredibly naughty 9 month old ginger kitten and 2 Silkie chickens called Roast (blame my hubby for that name!) and Chirpie.

About Us

Hi! I’m Helen Hutchings, owner and groomer at Soothing Grooming.

Having worked both within veterinary nursing and professional dog walking for over 10 years, I have extensive experience of working with and handling many different breeds and temperaments of dogs.

In addition, I have gained knowledge of Canine Behaviour and Training as I have completed training as a Professional Dog Trainer with the IMDT, as this was the field I first thought I wanted to pursue.

Initially self taught in dog grooming and practicing on the dogs within my care whilst walking, I have recently completed my practical grooming training under Ipet Networks with Mrs B’s Dog Grooming Academy in Headingly. Iv’e still a few theory modules to complete and then hope to be fully qualified by April 2026.
